The Portuguese Human Rights League – Civitas celebrates in 2001 the Centenary of its foundation. It was founded on April 3rd, 1921, by Sebastião de Magalhães Lima, in Hall at Ateneu Comercial de Lisboa, presided by former President of the Republic Mr. Teófilo Braga.
On the occasion of its Centenary, we would like to invite you to assist an Online Seminar on the History of the League, to be held on September 16th, 2021, from 5h00pm to 6h10pm, via Zoom.

PhD António Ventura, Historian and Professor at Faculty of Arts of Lisbon, Universidade de Lisboa, will speak about the foundation in 1921 until after April 25th (partly focused on Mr. Nuno Rodrigues dos Santos legacy).
Mr. Carlos Monjardino, current President of the Supervisory Council of the League and Mr. Portugal Pedrosa, current Vice Chairman of the Direction will hold a conversation to elucidate about the 1990s decade up to now.
